The Original Bag creates limited-edition handbags featuring original works by contemporary artists.
Each collection is produced in strictly limited numbers, with every piece individually numbered — much like a work of art.
Designed in Melbourne and released in small runs, these are not seasonal products.
They are pieces to be kept.

We work closely with contemporary artists to translate their original works into a new form — preserving the integrity of each piece while allowing it to be experienced beyond the canvas.
Our inaugural collections feature Kate Constantine (Konstantina) and Delvine Pitjara.
Kate Constantine (Konstantina)
Kate describes her work as:

Her practice has led to sold-out exhibitions across Paris, London, Sydney and Melbourne.
Delvine Pitjara
Delvine Pitjara’s work draws from her Utopian homelands, carried through a distinctive visual language and a refined, minimalist palette.
Her work has become increasingly sought after by collectors and designers for its contemporary presence.
Why The Original Bag exists
The Original Bag was founded in Melbourne by Susie.
After years in the corporate world, and later raising four children, she found herself wanting to build something of her own — something that combined creativity with meaning.
During Melbourne’s extended lockdowns, that idea became clear.
Surrounded by the art in her home, she kept coming back to one question:
Why does art stay in one place?
The Original Bag was created as an answer — a way to take something deeply personal and allow it to move with you.
